Look at the Difference

Many people look at the Z-CoiL design and just scratch their head.

"Can you jump higher?"
"Are those stable?"
"Tigger Shoes"

So let's breakdown some common misconceptions about the shoe, first: "can you jump higher?" NO, but you land better. Z-CoiLs are designed for impact reduction, the spring does return energy back to the body but not in a way that will allow you to leap tall buildings.

"Are these shoes stable?" YES, the spring adjusts to uneven surfaces allowing a stable sturdy feel.

"Tigger shoes" YES, they look different but they truly work.

Using an I - Step machine, I tested my own feet. I actually was surprised to see just how great these shoes are. Below are the results:

"The introduction of computerized foot analysis systems in the early 90's brought the science of pressure and gait analysis to an exciting phase. Using this new technology, scientific studies demonstrated that there is a direct cause and effect relationship between unbalanced pressure distribution during the gait cycle and lower extremity pain in areas such as the knee, ankle, or foot."

The red areas are those with the most pressure - the blue areas are those with the least pressure.

For this test I first stood on the machine barefoot, the results show a large amount of pressure on my heel and the outside edge of my foot. I roll my feet to the outside, this is called Over Supination. This is a common problem associated with knee and foot pain.

The popular shoe I tested had only been worn for a month and still look brand new. The popular running shoe did nothing but distribute the pressure around the whole foot no real impact reduction.

Next I put a gel heel pad in my shoe, this took some pressure off my forefoot but my feet still absorbed most of the pressure.

Finally the Z-CoiLs, really do I even have to say anything? The Z-CoiL Spring actually absorbed most of the impact. And the Z-CoiLs I did this test with are a year and a half old. This truly shows how great this product is.

Please feel free to come into the store and try this for yourself.

My Personal Testimonial

Imagine suffering for years from lower back pain, excruciating plantar fasciitis pain, or agony from an old hip surgery and never finding relief. You may have tried loads of prescription pain medications, hours of physical therapy and now are considering surgery as a last result.

My name is Jeremy Brock, I’m 27 years old and have dealt with terrible back pain from a car accident. I never thought I’d be dealing with this at such a young age. Pain takes away so much from normal activities. I truly thought I was destined to have to just live with it and learn to adapt. Not once did I ever think that what I wear on my feet really affected my pain levels.

I’ve been a New Balance athletic shoe fan for awhile and am the type to wear a pair of running shoes for two or three months and then religiously buy a new pair. Knowing what I know now, those shoe were adding to my painful back condition because they lacked support and truly had no cushioning to stop the impact of each step vibrating into my back.

My uncle is a podiatrist and by chance introduced me to a line of footwear that has nearly erased my back pain. Yes…shoes!! They are called Z-CoiL® Pain Relief Footwear™ and when I first saw them, I thought they were the craziest things. If you’ve seen them, you’ll never forget them. Z-CoiL shoes have a large steel coil under the heel that is out there for the world to see, but the shoes are ingenious and I wish I would have thought of it first.

The design of the coil allows it to compress down with each step, helping to take pressure off your feet, legs, hips and back. The shoes also have built-in orthotics to stabilize your body. With Z-CoiL you get a whole shoe with that orthotic and will spend around $200 for the basic athletic style shoe.

I’m an undeniable skeptic, but the shoes worked. For the first time in years when I’m standing for great lengths or walking for hours my back doesn’t hurt. This experience led me to work with my uncle to open Feel Good Footwear! in Bellevue. It’s been nearly a year and I have had people limp in the store and walk out without pain.

As I said I was spending around $60 4 - 6 times a year on shoes, that's $240 - $360 a year! I have had my Z-CoiLs now for a year and a half, I have replaced the springs once, on these Z-CoiLs I spent around $220. I actually saved money!

I have fitted people with levels of pain that far surpass mine and they’ve had unbelievable results. I’m working hard to help others learn of Z-CoiL shoes, a concept so simple, yet undeniably effective. I just encourage people who’ve tried nearly everything out there to cure pain to simply test-drive the shoes.

Shoes as a pain-relief device is a notion that hasn’t yet caught on, but when it does, I’m will be glad to know I was part of a growing phenomenon that will eventually become the norm for people looking for pain-relief.

Z-CoiL Pain Relief Footwear

(Bellevue, WA)— "The only way that I could walk any reasonable distance at all was with a cane. I dreaded going into those big warehouse stores. It took forever to get to where I was going and it hurt the whole time," says Bellevue, WA resident, Roger Lewis Posey, who’s suffered from bursitis in both heels for more than 10 years. " I hated using those electric scooters that the stores offered because I knew that I might be using one when someone who needed it worse would be without. I could walk; it just hurt…a lot."
Millions of people like Roger suffer from chronic and debilitating pain in their feet, legs and back, even after years of trying everything from cortisone shots to surgery. His relief came after trying on a pair of funny-looking shoes with a large steel spring in the heel, called Z-CoiL® Pain Relief Footwear™.
"I am now walking much farther now without the pain that I previously endured. I also noticed that I‘m not suffering as much back pain as I did in the past with "normal" shoes," Roger says. "It’s hard to believe that something so simple would change my life so much. I now strongly urge anyone who suffers from foot or back pain to try these shoes."
This revolutionary line of shoes is now available at a store called Feel Good Footwear! located 13281 NE 20th in Bellevue. Open since April 5, dozens of Z-CoiL customers are already experiencing pain-reduction and increased mobility. On June 14, owner Dr. Timothy Young and store manager Jeremy Brock will be having the store’s official Grand Opening!
Specially engineered to alleviate foot, leg and back pain, Z-CoiL Footwear features a unique conical coil steel spring in the heel, which acts as a shock absorber, greatly reducing the impact to the body that typically causes pain and injury. This spring suspension system, combined with a rigid built-in orthotic support and extra forefoot cushioning, cradle the foot in comfort. People suffering from such conditions as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, lower back pain, and arthritis, report either complete relief or a significant reduction in pain when wearing Z-CoiL Footwear.
Getting over the initial look of Z-CoiLs is well worth the pain-relief. "They looked a little strange to me. They felt strange too," Roger says. "What I mean by feeling "strange" is that they were so comfortable."
The first Z-CoiL® prototype was designed in 1989, when founder Al Gallegos embarked on a quest to build himself a better running shoe. He wanted to reduce the pain caused by years of impact from running. After seven years of designing, testing and patenting, Z-CoiL® Footwear officially opened its doors in January 1996. Since then, Z-CoiL® Footwear has achieved popularity with people in pain and the number of dealers across the country reached more than 220.
Many podiatrists and orthopedic specialists are starting to recognize the amazing results Z-CoiLs are bringing. Dr. Timothy Young of Bellevue began selling the footwear originally through his podiatry clinic because of their wonderful benefits.
"I found that Z-CoiL shoes are most effective for people who do a lot of standing or walking on hard surfaces, such as concrete slabs or a warehouse type of environment," Timothy says. "This could include virtually any position with a weight-bearing job function in health-care or retail."
This amazing line of footwear is available in Bellevue —only at Feel Good Footwear! For more information about Z-CoiLs go to the website at, or contact Jeremy at (425) 614-3668. For general information about the Z-CoiL company, call 800.268.6239 or visit the company’s website at
